Ms. Alena Ostrikova- Piano All Levels to ARCT
Originally from a small town in Russia, pianist Alena Ostrikova was raised in the widely known around the world Russian Piano teaching traditions.
Musical engagements of Mrs.Ostrikova as a soloist and collaborative pianist
included performances in Russian cities such as Saint-Petersburg, Oryol,
Moscow and Rostov-on-Don.In 2019, Mrs.Ostrikova participated in the fall opera production at The Glenn Gould School playing both piano and celeste in the orchestra. Her debut recital took place the following winter in Mazzolini Hall, Toronto.
Mrs. Ostrikova holds a Diploma from Oryol College of Music, a Bachelor degree in Piano Performance from the Rostov State Conservatory named after S. Rachmaninov, Russia and Artist Diploma in Piano Performance from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music, Toronto, Canada.
Ms. Vicki Go - Piano All Levels and Music History
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music and History, as well as a Bachelor’s degree of Education from Queen’s University. Her teaching philosophy is a student-centered approach, with a large emphasis on creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. As a teacher, Vicki is committed to creating an engaging learning environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.
Mr. Pooyan Sheikhi-Piano (all levels) and Musicianship
A classical pianist, accompanist, and music instructor.
Awarded as the best musician in the 3rd annual festival of art & music.
Mr. Sheikhi holds a Bachelor of music degree in piano performance from University of art. He started playing music by learning to play piano at the age of 6. Over the years, his passion for music grew stronger and he started participating in different music groups as a piano and keyboard player. He had the honor to learn numerous skills in the field of music from great teachers. He also worked as a band leader for different music groups and participated in many music festivals.He is pursuing his studies in music at York University, and his goal as a teacher is to keep his students engaged and interested in their musical journey. He considers the fact that every student is unique and therefore he apply diverse and up-to-date methods to his teaching process to bring the best out of each student while bringing their attention and enthusiasm into their own learning path.
Mr. Amir Khouri - Violin & Viola All Levels
Ms. May Sadan - Vocal Instructor
Soprano May Sadan has a passion for music, performing, and teaching. She was born in
Rehovot, Israel and was drawn to music at a very young age, beginning private singing lessons at
age 6 shortly after immigrating to Canada. May discovered her love for classical music while singing
in choir for the first time at age 15, and has since been studying classical voice, theory, and piano
ever since. In 2021, May completed her grade 9 practical voice exam, achieving First Class Honours
with Distinction.
May has performed in numerous voice festivals, productions, and recitals. Her most recent
achievements include receiving a second place title at the 2021 Ontario Music Festival Provincial
Finals Competition, being awarded the 1st place title in the 2021 NATS Ontario Vocal Showcase, and
placing 2nd overall in the 1st year university category at the NATS Great Lakes Region Virtual
Student Auditions. This past summer, May played the part of ‘Gretal’ in the Summer Opera Lyric
Theatre production of Hansel and Gretal.
May graduated from Huron Heights Secondary school with honours and an Arts Huron
Music diploma in 2021. Her achievements led her to the University of Toronto, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance.
Dr. Roman Soltys - Violin Instructor All Levels
Dr. Roman Solvys is a violinist and violin teacher from Ukraine who is currently residing in Ontario, Canada. He graduated from the Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Music Academy, Ukraine. The Mykola Lysenko Lviv National Academy is the oldest Ukrainian higher music educational establishment and one of the oldest in Europe. At one time, Franz Xaver Mozart joined the establishment of this Academy. He lived and worked in Lviv for more than twenty years. He is the son of the genius Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Prior to receiving his PhD, he took part in multiple orchestras and toured major cities of Europe. After he received his PhD, he decided to venture out. In 2017, Roman received a position of Assistant of Concertmaster in Kunming International Philharmonic, China. This is a large professional symphony orchestra, which was created on the basis of Kunming Professional College of the Art. Shortly after, he also accepted a teaching position at Kunming Professional College of the Arts.
